That is funny. Give it about 10-15 years, and I can imagine this being a real conversation I have with my kid. ;>
This is so true. I don't really like video games as violent as Halo3, but since my fiancees son has it at his house already. So he comes over to our place, he and my fiancee will play it together for hours!
I can usually get them to stop and do something fun outside, like a picnic or playing ball. Once they break away from the tv or games they are very happy to be outside and say, we should do this more.
Sometimes all it takes is someone to say, hey quit staring at that tv/computer/videogame. Until they are teenagers I guess!
Well, when my youngest was twelve he wanted a violent video game for Christmas really bad and I said no way. But I didn't want him to be disappointed, so I got him a hamster (he'd been asking for sometime) instead. I thought something to nurture would be better and it was - he loved it. Of course he figured out how to get his own games a few years later when he was nineteen, he joined the Marines against his "old hippy" (his words) Mom's wishes (I cried for a week). I'm really proud of him - he's a good guy. Both of my sons are exceptional men but they grew up too fast.

I hear you with the "growing up too fast." My daughter is 12...just exactly how did that happen anyway?!?
This is really funny! It's also reflects American culture. It's kind of sad in my opinion because I don't see this as being a "comic" of sorts but actually based on the reality of people today.
